Located in an old schoolhouse. An art gallery features the work of local artists. The nature room has many displays such as an observation beehive, geologic history of the island, weather phenomena, and information about fish, birds and wildlife of the area. A naturalist leads hikes.
Open June 13 to September 21. Hours 10:30-4:30, Sunday, 11:30-4:30.

On Saturday, July 5th, Sunday, July 6th, and Monday, July 7th at 7:30 p.m., at the Trueblood Performing Arts Center, IP will present the musical Oliver, based on Charles Dickens’ novel of mid-nineteenth century London, Oliver Twist.
Since 1984, Island Players has served Washington Island as a non-profit community theater. In fulfilling its mission – to bring quality theater experiences to the Washington Island community through performances and programs for adults and schoolchildren alike – the Players produce full-length plays and musical productions, sponsor workshops and informal play readings, and provide programs in the public school and a summer acting camp for children.
Through its various productions and programs, Island Players gives performance opportunities to hundreds of participants while providing entertainment for audiences which now number in the thousands. We regularly reach a majority of the Island’s population, both year-round and summer residents, as well as visitors to the island.

Sievers School of Fiber Arts has received national recognition for the week-long and weekend classes it offers for adults, May through October. Dormitory facilities are also available for students. The staff consists of professional teachers/fiber artists, offering a large variety of classes to an annual student enrollment of 600 plus. Original fiber art works are sold along with quality knitting and weaving yarns, fiber art books and supplies. www.sieversschool.com

The mission of the Wilson and Carol Trueblood Performing Arts Center, TPAC, is to provide and maintain a public facility in which creativity may flourish and to encourage public participation in education and entertainment for the residents and visitors to Washington Island. The TPAC, a nonprofit organization exists thanks to a generous bequest from the Ruth and Wilson Trueblood estate and the donation of five acres of land by Arni and Mary Richter.

The Washington Island Art Association (WIAA) was founded as a non-profit group dedicated to the idea of bringing exceptionally high quality, low cost workshops to its members in the unspoiled natural beauty of Door County's Washington Island. The Island offers harbors, sand and rock beaches, woods, water and rural Wisconsin landscapes; legendary hospitality; and a unique gathering of artists with whom to learn and share.
